“Pura Vida” in Portugal

Pura Vida – To live a peaceful, simple, uncluttered life with deep appreciation of nature, family and friends.

About the project:

Youth exchange project where 27 young people from Ukraine, Germany, Spain, Greece and Portugal will gather to reflect on how to adopt Pura Vida principles in our lives, how we can foster a connection with nature, the relationship with others and with oneself and bring and sustain those in our attitudes and behaviors in real life, with positive impact to our own well-being and contributing for a more sustainable, inclusive and peaceful society.

For the 8 days in the project participants will be challenged to live the experience WITHOUT PHONES! (BUT, we don’t want to exclude anyone because of this, so if you would like to participate but cannot live without your phone, talk to us ????

When & Where?

8 day activity programme:

ARRIVAL DATE on 29th September before 17h30 (at Lisbon Airport)
DEPARTURE DATE on 8th of October after 13h00 (from Lisbon Airport)
Ferreira do Zêzere – Small town in the countryside of Portugal, famous for the Zêzere river and wild forests. The portuguese capital of the egg (world record for the biggest omelette ever made).

Activities and topics:

We will implement a wide range of activities following non- formal education and experiential methods, from teambuilding to simulation games, debates, workshops, creative expression activities, and many more! Participants will have anactive and central role in the learning process.

According to the topic of the project – PURA VIDA – we will reflect together on society’s current main challenges and obstacles (e.g. social, environmental and economic sustainability, human rights, mental health, healthy lifestyles),

how they hinder sustainable development in different dimensions (social, environmental, economical) and how they impact our personal wellbeing and satisfaction.

Partcipant Profile

• 18 to 30 years old resident in Spain, Germany, Greece, Ukraine or Portugal.
• Motivated to challenge myself to live for 8 days with 27 people and without my phone (I will leave it in a safebox upon arrival).
• Committed to participate BEFORE, in the preparation of the youth exchange (participants will have the chance to be part of creating activities to implement during the youth exchange) ,DURING (during the youth exchange and all activities) and AFTER (in local activities to spread the project experience with other young people).
