Participating in the .CATCH project has completely changed the way I understand coaching and its potential to create positive change. Before joining the program, I believed coaching was simply about helping people solve problems or achieve specific goals. Throughout this experience, I discovered that coaching is much more than that…it is a process that empowers individuals to recognize their strengths, build confidence, and take responsibility for their own personal and professional development.

People choose coaching for many different reasons. Some are searching for direction in their careers, while others want to improve their communication skills, strengthen their self-confidence, overcome challenges, or adapt to important life changes. Regardless of the starting point, coaching provides a supportive environment where people can reflect, identify opportunities, and create realistic action plans that help them move forward.

One of the greatest benefits of this project has been the opportunity to develop practical coaching competences through training sessions, collaborative learning, and real coaching practice. The methodologies introduced during the program have given me valuable tools for supporting young people, particularly in the areas of career guidance, competency development, and social inclusion. At the same time, I have learned how to create a safe and motivating environment where individuals feel encouraged to express themselves, explore new perspectives, and discover their own solutions.

An equally important outcome has been my own personal development. Practising coaching has strengthened my active listening, communication, empathy, and leadership skills. I have become more aware of the importance of asking thoughtful questions instead of providing immediate answers, allowing people to reflect and make decisions based on their own values and aspirations. These competences are not only essential for coaching but are also valuable in everyday interactions, teamwork, and professional environments.

A unique aspect of this experience has been having the opportunity to participate in coaching sessions from both perspectives, as a coach and as a client. Being coached allowed me to reflect on my own goals, recognize both my strengths and areas for improvement, and increase my confidence in making important decisions. Experiencing the process firsthand helped me better understand the value of trust, active listening, and meaningful dialogue within a coaching relationship. This dual perspective has significantly enriched my learning journey and strengthened my confidence in applying coaching methods with others.

Beyond developing practical skills, this project has reinforced the importance of lifelong learning, inclusion, and international cooperation. Working alongside participants from different cultural and professional backgrounds has broadened my perspective and demonstrated how coaching can become a powerful tool for empowering young people and supporting their active participation in society.

This journey has shown me that becoming an effective coach is a continuous learning process that requires commitment, practice, and self-reflection. While I know there is still much to learn, I now feel better prepared to support others in achieving their goals and unlocking their potential. I am grateful for the knowledge, experience, and inspiration gained through the .CATCH project, and I look forward to continuing this journey by applying coaching in both my professional and personal life.
