Workshop about youth and active participation ”Be on board”

As part of the “All on Board” KA2 Erasmus+ project, Praxis recently organized an engaging and dynamic workshop at its headquarters, specifically designed for local young people and aiming at the same time t o disseminate the project as well. The initiative aimed to create an inclusive and empowering space where participants could explore important themes such as identity, belonging, and active citizenship through the lens of non-formal education.

The workshop’s primary objectives were to help young individuals develop a stronger sense of community and belonging, inspire them to take initiative, and provide them with a platform to express their thoughts, creativity, and personal experiences. Through a carefully curated series of interactive activities, the participants were encouraged to reflect on their roles within society, build interpersonal connections, and recognize their potential to contribute meaningfully to their communities.

A group of 11 enthusiastic local youths took part in the workshop, demonstrating a genuine interest in the world of non-formal education. Many expressed curiosity and excitement about discovering innovative and inclusive learning methods that differed from traditional educational systems. The program was designed to be flexible and adaptive, using diverse educational tools and methodologies to accommodate various learning styles and personal backgrounds.

During the sessions, a wide range of participatory methods was employed to ensure full engagement from everyone involved. These included experiential learning exercises, group discussions, role-playing, and creative problem-solving activities. Special emphasis was placed on inclusion and collaboration, with activities tailored to foster mutual understanding and cooperation among participants.

One of the core components of the workshop involved scenario-based challenges that required participants to draw upon their own life experiences to navigate and solve complex tasks. These exercises highlighted the importance of empathy, teamwork, and resilience, encouraging participants to think critically and act with intention. By working through these challenges, the young people not only enhanced their problem-solving skills but also gained a deeper appreciation of the value of diversity and collective effort.

Overall, the workshop served as a powerful example of how non-formal education can be used to empower youth, foster a sense of community, and spark personal and social growth. It was a successful step forward in the broader goals of the All on Board project, reinforcing the idea that young people, when given the right tools and environment, can become active agents of positive change in their communities.
