Multiplier event “Veni, Vidi, Involve’’

Praxis organized a multiplier event called: “Veni, Vidi, involve’’ on the 11th of
October 2024, in its Information Youth Center and collaborated with the local youth
organization “Dragon Tale”, the “UNESCO Club of Serres”, the local Animal Welfare
Association, and the local group of University Students of Serres from the Business
Administration and Graphic design departments of.

During this open event PRAXIS ‘participants in CURAE programme present a
photography exhibition, which include images from the professional craftsmen of
the area of Serres. For some of them we already did study visits in order to learn
deeper the history of the handcraft job at the same time the present challenges
about crafts that are in danger of disappearing and appeal to them to get more
involved with them.

Furthermore, there are descriptions and quotes of those people under the photos
and on a board which explain a few things, talk about the meaning of that or
comment on the whole experience, in order outputs become more visible.
Meanwhile, we promote our event through the radio broadcast, spots, posters,
leaflets, summarizing video, articles and posts on social media or on other sites, etc.
in order to achieve a suitable promotion.

Moreover, we promoted the websites of the local traditional entrepreneurships and
we presented the crafting website.

The target group of the event was young people between 20 and 30. There were
about 90-100 people who passed-by around during the whole afternoon event from
PRAXIS’ Youth Information Center, mainly youngsters and people who are interested
in these fields.

We focus on this target group, aiming to youngsters and why not some of them:
unemployed or searchers of new job orientation.

We started doing a general review of this 3 year CURAE project, during our second
multiplier event aimed at young people learning about the project and its goals.

For that reason, participants from different CURAE meetings joined this Multiplier
event-meeting and shared their experiences also on line by distance people who
could be at Serres during that afternoon of the 11 th of October and also, they
presented sides of the results of the project from their side/ point of view.

In this event, local people had the opportunity to see more details about CURAE
experience. This happened first, through the sharing stories and photos/videos of
the participants who joined in the program and talked about everything they lived in
it. The parts of these documents (photos/videos) were related to the craft
workshops they implemented for each other or for other local people, the whole
process before and after it, the preparation of a big local craft festival where they
were also members and the tools they gained through this project.

Moreover, in this multiplier event we projected the final documentary of the project
where the feedback was very positive. Through this, people were able to see the
whole CURAE journey of the last few years. They included so many diverse activities
such as, Study Visits, Training, local workshops and a Youth- exchange. all of these
having a single common axis which is the interest and the passion about crafts and
how they can be preserved. Images always are stronger than words, so the video
gave them the best explanation about what happened in this project, through
different perspectives and motivating them to be closer in the craft world.

Apart from this documentary, we gave a sneak peak in the scrapbook of the project
which depicts all the hard work of craftsmen and their devotion to it. In this book we
see the experience of craft people and the curiosity of the new ones, meet and
together they explore this world. Many young people who came to our event were
very surprised by the power of the images, where the craftsmen were captured in
action by the lens.

Regarding the “UNESCO Club of Serres, the local Animal Welfare Association are the
trusted partners who always supports Praxis and contributes to disseminating
information or outputs in the local community easier. The local youth organization
“Dragon Tale” is a cultural club whose themes range from the realm of fantasy, in all
its expressions presented in society, such as literature, painting, comics, music, films,
television series, artistic costumes, board games, card games, strategy games and
role-playing games. It is a local partner, a new cooperation in which we both aim to
motivate young people to be more active and involved in the local community. We
have already designed and organized a few local activities regarding self-motivation,
creativity and imagination, so they supported us this time as well in order to
reinforce this network and bring young people closer to these initiatives.

At the end, a few short activities were implemented so as to bring people closer and
give them a small taste of a different part of this project, where people learn to
communicate in different ways and cooperate. Non-formal education is always a
key-element which can unlock people and boost their competences. Also, in the buffet of the event, in which there was a big variety of food for all preferences, there
were also some handmade delicacies that few young locals made and wanted to
share there. Apart from the visual material, corresponding leaflets, posters, banners
of the project were there in order to frame the whole activity.

In order to maximize the publicity of the project outside our organization, PRAXIS
includes photos and material from the project in its social media channels,
disseminates the project results to the organization’s sites, and also promotes the
project via our social media.
