The Power of Questions: Mapping Your Next Steps

As part of the CATCH Project, participants took part in an interactive workshop entitled “The Power of Questions: Mapping Your Next Steps.” The session was designed to introduce practical life-coaching tools while encouraging personal reflection, teamwork, creativity, and professional development.

The workshop began with engaging icebreakers and energizers, including Follow the Leader, Mirror Movements, and Group Countdown. These activities helped participants feel comfortable, connect with one another, and create a positive and collaborative learning environment.

Following an introduction to coaching and the objectives of the CATCH Project, participants explored the use of Mind Mapping as a tool for organising ideas, identifying priorities, and visualising personal or professional goals. Through this exercise, they were encouraged to think creatively and recognise the different steps needed to move from an idea to an achievable plan.

The workshop also introduced the Powerful Questioning method. Participants learned how meaningful and well-structured questions can support self-awareness, encourage deeper reflection, and help individuals discover their own solutions. The activity highlighted the importance of active listening, curiosity, and avoiding judgement when communicating with others.

During the Sharing Is Caring activity, participants practised giving and receiving constructive and structured feedback. This created opportunities for open communication, mutual support, and the exchange of different perspectives.

Creativity and personal expression were further encouraged through the activity “What Object Talks to You?” Participants selected objects that represented personal thoughts, experiences, or emotions and shared their reflections with the group. This activity helped them communicate in an imaginative way and learn more about one another.

The workshop concluded with reflection and evaluation activities. Through the Commitment Post-its exercise, participants identified specific actions they wanted to take after the session. These commitments transformed their reflections into practical next steps for personal and professional growth.

Overall, the workshop provided participants with valuable skills in Mind Mapping, Powerful Questioning, active listening, and structured feedback. It also strengthened teamwork, creativity, self-awareness, and confidence. By combining practical coaching techniques with interactive group activities, the event successfully fulfilled the objectives of the CATCH Project and encouraged participants to take meaningful steps towards their future goals.
