“B.O.S.S.” Training Course, 13-21 September 2026 in Paralia Ofriniou, Greece

Taking part in the B.O.S.S. (Building Opportunities for Sustainability and Solidarity) training course was a valuable experience that gave me the opportunity to explore leadership from a different perspective. Throughout the project, I learned that leadership is not simply about guiding a group towards a common goal, but also about understanding the people within that group, recognising their different needs, perspectives and personalities and creating an environment where everyone can contribute.

One of the most important lessons I took from the project was the importance of “reading the room.” Even when people share the same goal and are working towards the same purpose, every individual brings different experiences, expectations, strengths and ways of communicating. Being able to recognise these differences, while also identifying the similarities that bring people together, is an essential part of effective leadership.

It was fascinating to observe how people can evolve within a group and how much influence a leader can have, not only on the development of the team as a whole, but also on the growth of each individual. At the same time, I realised that a leader’s values and beliefs play a significant role in the way they lead. They influence how a leader distributes responsibilities, communicates with their team, approaches challenges and responds to different situations. This made me reflect more deeply on the kind of leader I would like to become and the values I want to carry with me.

Another important part of the experience was the international environment of the project. Participants from Spain, Italy, Czechia, Estonia, Greece, North Macedonia, Türkiye and Bulgaria brought different perspectives, experiences and approaches to teamwork. Sharing examples from our everyday lives, whether on a local or national level, gave us the opportunity to learn from one another and see how similar challenges and ideas can be approached in very different ways.

Overall, B.O.S.S. was an experience that gave me valuable insights into leadership, teamwork and personal development. More importantly, it helped me clarify what qualities I consider important in a leader and encouraged me to think about how I want to stand as a leader in the future. I left the project not only with new knowledge and perspectives, but also with a clearer understanding of the kind of leader I aspire to be.

13–21/09/2026

My participation in the B.O.S.S.  training course was a very meaningful and rewarding experience for me. Apart from having a great time and meeting amazing people from different countries, I had the opportunity to learn more about myself and discover things I had not noticed before. At the same time, I was able to share my own experiences and learn from the experiences of the other participants.

The topic of the training was very interesting to me, especially because it gave me the opportunity to better understand my role as a leader, both in my professional life and in the teams I work with. The activities and discussions helped me reflect on the way I communicate, cooperate with others and take responsibility within a team.

It was definitely a group experience that I truly value. I am grateful for the people I met, the experiences we shared and everything I learned during these days. I am also very happy that opportunities like Erasmus+ exist for young people across Europe, giving us the chance to learn, grow, meet new people and see things from different perspectives.
